The main thing to understand is that a sound system is only as good as the sum of it’s parts.  This is important to understand, because most people have the perception that buying the most expensive speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers are the best way to go.  But really, none of that is going to matter if you don’t have a complete system that works well together.  The most important factor that you should consider is finding a sound system that’s perfectly voice matched, and guaranteed to work in harmony.  Otherwise, no matter how much money you spend, you’re not going to like the results.
